The HoogHout aan de Zaan complex consists of three modular residential towers that blend seamlessly into urban planning and leave the sightlines in the area open. We also looked at the past: the Zaan has been a center of wood use for centuries.
The Hedgehog approach is based on the possibility of building quickly and sustainably in the immediate vicinity of a Natura 2000 area, in this case Wormer-Jisperveld & Kalverpolder and Polder Westzaan.
The approach consists of first calculating the starting position of the imposed legal environmental standards with regard to nitrogen, CO2 and circularity within the plan area. These calculations then form the guideline for the development vision and the construction plan.
The Hedgehog approach fits seamlessly into the Circle City formula, by sharing knowledge from new projects and securing the results, in order to continuously increase the circular ambition.
In short, this concept plan with 220 apartments offers plenty of this opportunity.
