WHY AN EPD?

As a producer you are able to clearly communicate the environmental impact of your products. With an EPD, buyers can easily map and compare the environmental impact of various options. Because the EPD is based on the LCA and ISO standards, this comparison is fair and clear.

Rik Wessels

EPD & LCA EXPERT

“My mission is to localize environmental hotspots in a company’s production process and supply chain. This makes the goal-driven support in improving the environmental performance of our customers almost easy.”

WHAT IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION (EPD)?

The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a declaration of the environmental impact of a product according to ISO standards (ISO 14025). This statement informs about the results of a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). An LCA must therefore first be made for an EPD. It is set up in such a way that it is easy to compare different products. An EPD must always be verified by a recognized and independent LCA expert and is valid for 5 years.
